Students Agree with Cuomo That America ‘Was Never That Great’ — Watch

It’s another stunning display of ignorance from today’s sheltered millennials.

After New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo caused a stir on Saturday with his comment that America “was never that great,” Campus Reform interviewed college students to see if they agreed with the Democratic governor. (Cuomo partially walked back his comments in a weird, PR-issued statement afterward.)

“I don’t believe America has been great for all folks, ever. Even today,” one person responded to the query.

“I would have to agree with Gov. Cuomo,” that student added.

“The idea that there was this once-great America is pointing toward this false sense of nationalism,” another said. “What — it’s talking about white America? Yeah, you know, it’s not great.”

“America has been great … for straight white men, for a very long time,” still another said.

Strikingly, several of the respondents questioned by Campus Reform said they had never heard of the term “American exceptionalism.”

Several students also said they had never heard any discussion, lectures or classroom instruction whatsoever by their teachers about why this country — their native land, the home of their birth, the place so many dream of living and thriving in — is great.

With so many current liberal influences on them every which way they turn, it’s no wonder that today’s students don’t think America is great.

Millions of immigrants, however, do think it’s great enough to flock to this country — a place that, for those here legally, is a remarkable land of opportunity.
