One of disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein’s first public accusers has a surprising past.

Actress Asia Argento, according to a report in The New York Times, paid $380,000 to an actor who accused her of sexual assault in 2013. The actor was 17 years old at the time of the alleged assault.

The age of consent in California is 18.

The Times obtained letters between the young actor and Argento’s lawyer along with a picture of the two performers lying in bed together.

The young actor was originally seeking $3.5 million in damages.

Argento was one of Weinstein’s most vocal accusers. She alleged that the movie producer raped her. For his crimes, Weinstein faces up to 37 years in prison. He’s been free on bail since his arrest in May.

“I was not willing. I said, ‘No, no, no.’ … It’s twisted,” Argento told The New Yorker about her experience with Weinstein.

Another prominent Weinstein accuser has already expressed disappointment in the news about Argento’s own history with sexual assault accusations.

“I got to know Asia Argento ten months ago. Our commonality is the shared pain of being assaulted by Harvey Weinstein. My heart is broken. I will continue my work on behalf of victims everywhere,” tweeted actress Rose McGowan, another of Weinstein’s most public accusers.

Argento, now 42, is best known for starring in films such as 2002’s “XXX” and 2005’s “Land of the Dead.” She is the daughter of horror director Dario Argento.

In a public letter, filmmaker Vincent Gallo criticized both Argento and McGowan earlier this year.

“Harvey Weinstein is a brutal pig, yes, but I really wish it wasn’t those two particular girls getting glorified for now saying so,” he wrote. Gallo previously dated Argento.
