Rapper Goes After Trump’s Border Wall in This VMA Performance

Monday night’s Video Music Awards on MTV were a predictably boring and political affair.

Comedian Kevin Hart took multiple shots at the president — despite having previously avoided politics in public — and rapper Logic used his time on stage to attack President Donald Trump’s promised wall across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Logic wore a shirt that read “F*** the Wall” while performing his song “One Day” with Ryan Tedder.

He was joined on stage by immigration leaders and by children wearing matching shirts that read, “We Are All Human Beings,” presumably in protest of the detention of illegal immigrants in an effort to strengthen America’s border security.

In a rather corny effort to make his political stance crystal clear, Logic had a human-made wall separating families on the stage. When the wall was taken down at the end of the performance, the families were reunited.

Is there nowhere left in the entertainment world for Americans to turn away from the daily barrage of bitter political divisions?

When will people in Hollywood wake up and realize that they’re most effective and positive in the culture when they’re open thinkers who want to entertain — and have their art reach across the political divide?

Most celebrities today seem to want to cram a political message down people’s throats in an aggressive fashion.

Entertainment elites simply cross their arms, stamp their feet, and tell potential fans they’re wrong.

Border security is a serious issue to many Americans living outside of the bubble of Hollywood — and that’s something outspoken celebrities seem unwilling to accept.

Instead of asking questions and figuring out why it’s such an important issue for so many Americans, these entertainment elites simply cross their arms, stamp their feet, and tell potential fans that they’re wrong.
