Angry leftists used President Donald Trump’s decision to revoke the security clearance of former CIA director John Brennan this week as fresh reason to go after the chief executive.
“Mr. Brennan has recently leveraged his status as a former high-ranking official with access to highly sensitive information to make a series of unfounded and outrageous allegations, wild outbursts on the internet and television about this administration,” White House press secretary Sarah Sanders told the press this week about the decision.
Most of the usual suspects reacted on Twitter, including anti-Trumper Rob Reiner (shown above right, along with actor George Takei).

The left-leaning filmmaker (and son of Carl Reiner) proved his opinions will always be the opposite of Trump’s by going so far as to call John Brennan a “patriot.”
The would be Autocrat strikes again. John Brennan is a patriot. Stripping the former CIA director of his security clearance should frighten all patriots. Before this mentally unstable fool completely destroys our Democracy & hands US over to Putin, Nov.6 VOTE!!!

Actress Mia Farrow, never one to hold back, called the president a “small person” for his decision.
Sanders says WH is revoking @JohnBrennan security clearance. More vindictive pettiness. What a small person Trump is.

Comedian and recent “Talking Dead” temporary host Yvette Nicole Brown spread the theory that there is a tape “out there” of the president supposedly saying the N-word.
And @PressSec that little pettiness (and projection) about Brennan has not made ANY of us forget about that "dog" comment or the N-Word tape. We still know who Tang is and who YOU are.
We can all multi-task!
God bless, hun! ?

Controversial “Star Trek” actor George Takei also made it clear he was against the move.
Good for them. https://t.co/keLPkXbUyd

Chelsea Handler, who keeps up a steady stream of anti-Trump invective on her Twitter feed, had this to say:
Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced that former CIA Director John Brennan would no longer have access to classified information due to "erratic conduct and behavior." Ummmm…
— Chelsea Handler (@chelseahandler) August 15, 2018
Rosie O’Donnell — who recently lent her voice to a singalong protest outside the White House (on a night Trump wasn’t even there) — also retweeted the story about the handful of former intelligence officials who were against Trump’s Brennan decision.
Other reactions come from the likes of Grammy-winning songwriter Peter Zizzo:
Trump – TRUMP! – citing “erratic conduct & behavior” as cause for revoking the security clearance of a former CIA Director.
Surely it had NOTHING to do w Brennan’s stern criticism of him after the Helsinki disaster.
Simulation Theory. Every day, it’s more plausible.

“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” writer Travon Free:
So Trump revokes John Brennan's security clearance and Jared Kushner still has one? pic.twitter.com/e1w9p0yHwt

“Numbers” co-creator Nicolas Falacci:
* @KatyTurNBC PLEASE don’t minimize Brennan’s clearance revoking as a “distraction.” Its an intimidation tactic used by authoritarian dictators.
This is about silencing the 1A rights of critics of the President & the WH press corps should have flipped out.
— Nicolas Falacci (@NickFalacci) August 15, 2018
And “Ellen Show” producer Andy Lassner — who also took to calling Brennan a “patriot.”
Dear @JohnBrennan,
He isn’t 1/1,000,000th of the man and patriot that you are.
I thank you for all your incredible and ongoing service to our country.
