Former Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr had an “obvious conflict of interest” in promoting his wife’s opposition research “consulting services” during the FBI’s probe into President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and violated government rules, attorney Harmeet Dhillon said Tuesday night on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

“[Ohr] was creating demand for his wife’s consulting services, so that’s an obvious conflict of interest. It’s also a violation of the, you know, government’s rules not to disclose that,” said Dhillon, founder of the Dhillon Law Group Inc. and Republican National Committeewoman for California.

“The fact that this was not disclosed to the FISA [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] court is shocking, and I think it’s obstruction of justice, quite frankly,” Dhillon continued.

Ohr (pictured above center) testified Tuesday in a closed-door joint hearing between the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Ohr’s wife, Nellie, worked for Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm used by 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to peddle negative allegations against Trump from sources linked to Russian interests.

Fusion GPS used former British spy Christopher Steele to compile the negative information in what became known as the Steele dossier, which the FBI used to obtain FISA warrants to spy on former Trump campaign foreign-policy adviser Carter Page.

“The big question had been with Bruce Ohr — how high and how far did knowledge about the dossier go, the Steele-Trump dossier, go inside the FBI and inside the” Department of Justice (DOJ), said Byron York, the Washington Examiner’s chief political correspondent and a Fox News contributor.

Noting that Steele was terminated as an FBI source after he violated the rules in talking to the press “because he was dying to get bad information about Trump out into the public before the election,” York emphasized that the FBI still used Ohr “as the go-between.”

“So Ohr would go talk to Christopher Steele, and then he’d go the FBI and tell them what Steele had told him,” York said. “So now what I think they learned today was who else was Ohr briefing on this? Who else was being kept up on this — not just at the FBI, but at the Obama Justice Department?”

Dhillon lamented that “it appears that no oversight was done” in signing off on the FBI’s surveillance warrant requests.

“I think this does go higher. We don’t know what was said today exactly in the testimony. But there are a lot of questions that need to be asked,” Dhillon said.

Clinton also found herself the subject of negative news reports this week after The Daily Caller reported that a Chinese-owned company operating in the Washington, D.C., area allegedly hacked her private email server throughout her term as secretary of state, thus obtaining early all her emails.

Government Accountability Institute (GAI) President Peter Schweizer, author of “Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich,” told Fox News host Laura Ingraham that “if this story is true, it means that the only set of all of Hillary Clinton’s emails as secretary of state resides in Beijing, China.”

“Because remember, she deleted 33,000 emails and never turned them over to the FBI,” Schweizer said. “This is a huge story.”

To make matters even worse, Peter Strzok, then serving as the FBI’s top counterintelligence official, reportedly failed to act after receiving the information, according to Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas).

“And the fact that this information was discovered then turned over to the FBI, and the FBI counterintelligence office, including Mr. Peter Strzok, apparently took no interest in it is shocking,” Schweizer said.

“This is a massive breach,” Schweizer added. “This thing was a massive failure.”
