Team Melania Trump may have dignity and class — but they’re not going to let the comments of Oregon congressional candidate Mark Roberts slide without a response.
“Did you know the First Lady works by the hour? #thinkdirty #hoebag,” Roberts said in a tweeted response to Charlie Kirk on Monday — eliciting almost instant condemnation from many corners.

Now, FLOTUS spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham has crushed Roberts’ insult in a comment to Glamour magazine.
“This is just more hypocritical intolerance from those who oppose her husband’s administration,” Team Melania said. “To say such ugly words about a mother, wife, and our first lady is not just a pathetic attempt at getting himself in the news; it is disturbing and despicable.”
Scores of Americans came to Melania Trump’s defense after Roberts’ derogatory remark, including House Majority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who called on Twitter to be consistent and to ban Roberts from the social media platform for its hate speech. McCarthy appeared Tuesday night on “The Ingraham Angle” to share those thoughts and more as well.

“Jack this attack on @FLOTUS is disgraceful. Comments like these have no business on any platform. This account should be banned ASAP,” McCarthy wrote to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey late Monday night.
Laura Ingraham, host of “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News and LifeZette’s co-founder, also asked the Twitter CEO on Tuesday why the tweet was still up.
Why has @jack not taken this tweet down and suspended the account? https://t.co/NgVQLMEjDE

“Why has @jack not taken this tweet down and suspended the account?” she asked.
Predictably, much of the Twitterverse sees no problem at all with the insulting remark against the first lady, although it’s pretty clear what would have happened if a Republican candidate had said the same about former first lady Michelle Obama.

Of course, it’s asking a lot of Twitter to treat Republicans the same way as Democrats — pay no attention to the fact that liberals are free to spew hatred and even make death threats against conservatives with no consequences.
It’s no wonder people on the Right believe Twitter is against them.
The best way to call out abusers is to do it publicly and quickly — such as Melania Trump’s spokesperson did here.
