Many leftists have attacked golfer Tiger Woods for his recent decision to not criticize President Donald Trump — but Woods can at least count one golf legend as being on his side.

Jack Nicklaus, who won 18 major championships during his incredible golfing career, appeared Wednesday morning on the Fox News show “Fox & Friends.”

He said he agrees with Tiger Woods’ sentiment that Americans, no matter who they are, need to respect the Oval Office, no matter who is in charge there.

“No matter who’s president — whether it was Barack Obama or Donald Trump — I think you respect the office, and I’m much in Tiger’s camp on that,” said Nicklaus, who is 78 years old.

One of the greatest golfers of all time said Woods handled himself “well” when confronted by the press recently about his “friendly” relationship with Trump.

Nicklaus previously endorsed Trump for president in the 2016 presidential election.

Woods currently has 14 major championship victories, which makes him only second to the great Nicklaus.

Another defender of Woods on this issue has been President Donald Trump.

After Woods refused to bash the president over the weekend after the final round of a tournament in Paramus, New Jersey, Trump took to Twitter to praise the golfer.

“The Fake News Media worked hard to get Tiger Woods to say something that he didn’t want to say. Tiger wouldn’t play the game — he is very smart. More importantly, he is playing great golf again!” the president tweeted.

Others have not been so receptive or supportive of the position Woods has taken.

One ESPN host even accused the golfer in the past few days of not being truly “black.”

The reactions Woods is receiving right now for merely choosing to hold back on any open criticism of the president is incredibly telling about where this country is right now in terms of its culture.

Many people on social media are attacking the man for the simple — and patriotic — position that he respects the office of the presidency no matter whom the American people have chosen to duly elect.
