Frequent online provocateur Lena Dunham, 32, posted three nude photos of herself on Wednesday morning to celebrate her recent hysterectomy — a surgery that apparently happened nine months ago.
Following numerous “complex surgeries,” Dunham revealed to Vogue magazine in February that she had a hysterectomy due to a years-long struggle with endometriosis, a condition that causes heavy menstruation, chronic pain, and, in some cases, depression.
Dunham also told her 3.1 million followers that her uterus was named “Judy” by a male friend, Breitbart noted.

“Today I give thanks for Judy, for her graceful exit and for this body, which is stronger than I’ve ever given it credit for. Happy Giving Birth To Myself Day,” she wrote.
“I’ve never celebrated the 9-month anniversary of anything and I realized last night why that number feels so funny — I won’t ever do it the way I planned to,” Dunham also wrote on Instagram. “My body is mostly healed and every day I find a new bruise on my heart, but today I offer myself gratitude: From the most pained place, I somehow knew to choose myself.”
Dunham is well-known for her liberal views and for her HBO show “Girls,” which she starred in, created and wrote. She is a frequent online poster, sharing everything from a list of baby names she made with an ex-boyfriend to her recent jury duty.
Should I livetweet jury duty? Is that even legal? Y? N? I have a serious authority problem u guys.

“The purest glint of who we are and know we can be is always available to us, calm and true at our center,” she added to her hysterectomy overshare.
One can only guess the meaning of that.

One thing’s for sure after Wednesday’s post: Nothing is off limits for this liberal celebrity.
“The internet is the saddest city in the world,” she tweeted Monday — ironically, nude photos often are the reason why.

Someday I’m going to tell you all about the time that I was leaving a doctor’s office weeping after a very painful pelvic exam/fertility discussion and I saw DJ Khaled and through my tears told my father “that’s DJ Khaled!” and he said “I don’t care who that is, get in the car.”
