LA Mayor Stuns Community with News About Trump’s Walk of Fame Star

West Hollywood City Council had voted to strip the president of his previous honor — looks like that plan might be moot now

It was recently announced on Twitter that the West Hollywood City Council had voted unanimously to remove President Donald Trump’s star from the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The mayor of Los Angeles (shown above) has now, though, revealed he’s against the removal.

In a video interview with TMZ that dropped on Wednesday, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti revealed he was not for removing the star — even though he’s an avid anti-Trumper.

“We should be focused less on sidewalk problems and more on replacing a Congress that enables him [Trump],” said Garcetti, an apparent 2020 White House hopeful.

“You know, every moment we’re out there fighting these fights or just on our Twitter feed, [in these] moments we could be registering votes and actually flipping this Congress.”

He added, “That’s where I’m going to spend my energy.”

While most likely assume Trump earned his Walk of Fame star for his work on the highly successful reality series “The Apprentice,” he actually earned it as a producer of the Miss Universe pageants.

“He was selected for his producer job for his Miss Universe shows,” Ana Martinez, a spokeswoman for the Walk of Fame, recently told Fast Company.

John D’Amico, the West Hollywood mayor pro tempore, told The Wrap following the West Hollywood City Council vote about the potential removal: “The West Hollywood City Council did not pass the resolution because Donald Trump is a conservative or a Republican. Earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is an honor. When one belittles and attacks minorities, immigrants, people with disabilities or women — the honor no longer exists.”

The comment is absurd and makes no sense considering all the other controversial stars who still have spots on the Walk of Fame.

Trump’s star has been heavily targeted by anti-Trumpers for years now. It has been vandalized and completely destroyed multiple times.
