Former Donald Trump campaign spokesperson Katrina Pierson found herself on the hot seat with Fox News anchor Ed Henry on Tuesday night — her second night in a row this week of appearing with him on the Fox News Channel.
Henry challenged Pierson over fired White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman’s comments, asking specifically whether Pierson was aware that Donald Trump had supposedly used “the N-word.”
The Fox News host took issue with Pierson’s statement earlier this week that this was “absolutely not true.”
Manigault Newman — clearly desperate to sell her new book, “Unhinged” — later bolstered her claim that the tape was real by referencing Pierson’s alleged statement that “he said it,” suggesting somehow that Pierson was verifying its existence.
Henry then played the tape for Pierson.
But she sharply rebuked his line of reasoning by saying, “That did not happen.”
Then things really got heated.
When Pierson attempted to claim references to a number of possible recordings, Henry fired back at her and tried to cut through what he was hearing.
“If that’s the truth, why didn’t you tell me, ‘Ed, you know, I don’t know all the details of this book, I haven’t seen it, but I did say, ‘Yes, he used the N-word to move the conversation along?’” the Fox News host asked her.
“You didn’t say that last night. You changed the story today,” he added.
She refuted that strenuously, referring to transcripts and working hard to clarify the confusion over a variety of alleged conversations and statements.
Henry continued to grill Pierson for her statement, which appears to have her confirming Manigault Newman’s claim that Trump is on tape saying the N-word.
“Omarosa has been using this tape to manipulate people. She’s pushy,” said Pierson.
As confusing as all of the discussions were and are about a variety of discussions and interviews — it’s quite the segment to behold. Henry even, at one point, attempted to reference Pierson’s own son in the discussion.
