Gina Loudon, a member of President Donald Trump’s 2020 Advisory Council (shown above right), faced off last night against the former executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus, Angela Rye (above left), on CNN’s “Erin Burnett OutFront.”

They were there to grapple with the hot topic of diversity in the White House — and there were fireworks.

Rye jumped all over Loudon after the latter noted that though administrations from the distant past were anything but diverse, they still managed to expand civil rights and women’s rights.

She specifically added, “Thank God we do [have diverse staff in the White House now]. I looked over the list of people I know there. About one-third are a minority or women,” she said, also acknowledging that both she and the staffers she knew would like to see that number rise.

She corrected host Erin Burnett (shown above center) when Burnett tried to say Loudon’s comment must mean that two-thirds of White House staffers are white men.

Loudon noted that in her quick look at the roster, she noticed only one white male in the communications department — adding that this probably varied from department to department.

But Rye wasn’t having it. She seized on a single piece of Loudon’s comments, twisted it into something ugly — and kept going with it.

“For you to have to say, right … we don’t necessarily need diversity in this White House,” Rye began.

“That’s not what I said,” Loudon replied, setting the record straight. “I don’t want you to twist my words, Angela.”

Rye carried on routing Loudon — who has a disabled son with a diverse heritage — telling her that her words were deeply offensive and that her “talking points about slavery [were] nonsense,” that she was lying, and that “America has never been great.” (Sound familiar? The timing on that one sure is amazing.)
