Season eight of MTV’s “Teen Mom O.G.” stars Bristol Palin (shown above left), the daughter of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (above right) — and the first trailer for the new season was tweeted out earlier this week, during the VMA Awards on Monday night.

Both Bristol Palin and Sarah Palin are featured in the trailer.

“I was a teen mom,” the younger Palin says in the teaser. “My life is not perfect at all.”

“Amen,” her mother responds.

“I want to do what’s best for my kids,” Bristol announces at another point in the video, which can be watched below:

“Teen Mom O.G.” is a spinoff of “16 & Pregnant.”

It follows cast members from the former show as they now struggle to raise the children they had when they were teens.

Palin had previously said on social media that she hopes her appearance on the show might help other struggling pregnant young people across the country.

Palin is replacing cast member Farrah Abraham — who has exited the show.

Bristol Palin, 27, announced in July of this year that she would be joining the cast of the new season of “Teen Mom O.G.” It is only the latest in her long line of reality television gigs.

Palin appeared in her mother’s reality series, “Sarah Palin’s Alaska,” and then her own show about motherhood, “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp.”

She also appeared in the 11th and the 15th seasons of “Dancing with the Stars.”

Palin is the mother of two daughters — Sailor Grace, 2, Atlee Bay, 14 months — and one son — Tripp, who is 9 years old. She recently announced that she is getting divorced from her husband, Dakota Meyer.
