Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York is no friend to the pro-life community.

It’s clear he believes there is no room in New York state for those who oppose abortion, a hallowed cause of the Left — and a contradictory position for Cuomo, considering that he claims to be Roman Catholic.

“Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains forever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being,” according to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Yet Cuomo is doubling down on his seemingly favorite “progressive” cause with a new “public awareness” campaign — he’s presiding over some of the most permissive abortion laws in the nation, according to LifeSiteNews.

Called “Know Your Options,” the campaign consists of subway ads encouraging women to visit a state website that allegedly helps them “get the facts” and connect to “comprehensive family planning services.”

“Everyone is entitled to accurate and nonjudgmental comprehensive family planning services without feeling pressured or shamed by the provider,” reads a press release from the governor’s office.

“These actions are in direct response to widespread reports of organizations known as Crisis Pregnancy Centers or CPCs misrepresenting themselves as health centers to dissuade those seeking abortion from going through with that choice,” the announcement claims. “These reports show that CPCs often use false and misleading advertising and offer free services to attract women into their offices, where they then allegedly misinform and mislead those who seek pregnancy-related information.”

The release fails to note any specific claims against CPCs — yet it nonetheless takes a swipe at them.

“While the federal government wages war on women’s reproductive rights, New York will fight back to protect women’s access to comprehensive, safe and affordable health care,” Gov. Cuomo said in the release. “In New York, we refuse to let President Trump and Washington take us backwards and jeopardize the rights of New Yorkers. We are launching this public awareness campaign to combat the insidious spread of misleading, medically inaccurate information about reproductive health …”

Progressive values too often impede women, despite Cuomo’s sanctimonious stance.

“Every day in New York State, 256 preborn children are killed by abortion. Gov. Cuomo continues to fail women and their children by advocating for abortion above the surplus of peaceful, nonviolent pregnancy alternatives, all of which are well represented inside pregnancy resource centers,” Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action, based in Washington, D.C., told LifeZette via e-mail.

“New York Health Department statistics show that more abortions are performed on black women in New York than any other group,” added Rose.

“New York City is also still the home of the Margaret Sanger Center abortion facility, proudly named after Planned Parenthood’s eugenicist founder, who advocated for termination of ‘genetically inferior races,'” she said. “New Yorkers should be outraged and demand that Gov. Cuomo include the crucial work of pregnancy resource centers in caring for all pregnant women and their families and end this assault on innocent lives.”

Cuomo also can’t seem to resist any opportunity to bash the current president of the United States.

“What we’re going to do together is make New York state the home of the rise of the resistance. We’re going to show this nation the alternative to Trump’s America. And the alternative to Trump’s America is the great state of New York, the beacon of progressive values, the state that says we can all succeed together,” Cuomo said at a rally for nurses recently, according to the State of Politics blog.

And those progressive values in the Big Apple — wow.

Last month, Planned Parenthood of New York City began an ad campaign called “protect our freedom to
f***,” according to The Federalist.
