Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has declared the upper middle class extinct — and she called some fellow Democrats dinosaurs, too.

During an interview on the podcast “Pod Save America,” the upstart congressional candidate from New York was asked about her party’s sometimes tepid reaction to her brand of socialism. Host Jon Lovett asked her specifically about Dems’ viewing her uber-progressive ideologies as a “recipe for failure.” (Ocasio-Cortez is shown above during the interview.)

She replied by attacking members of her own party, saying they were old and out of touch and calling them “stuck in ’90s politics.”

“They were campaigning most when we had more of an American middle class,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “This upper middle class is probably more moderate, but that upper middle class does not exist anymore in America.”

Laughing now, having a grand old time, she continued, “Their heyday was in the ’90s when kids had, like, Furbys, and soccer moms had, like, two vans. That’s not America anymore!”

“As if she [Ocasio-Cortez] knows all of America from her loft in Queens,” said Laura Ingraham, host of Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle,” on Wednesday night. “What does she think, moms outside of big cities can cart their kids around on those dippy electric scooters?”

“What she seems to be saying,” Ingraham also noted, “is that the new generation of women today are less moderate and, I suppose, closer to her socialist views? … And I’m not sure what minivans have to do with it, and by the way, I happen to love my minivan. It rocks. But I’ve never met a single mother who owned two of them.”

Ocasio-Cortez’s tone-deaf dismissiveness of whole swaths of women in this country is reminiscent of another progressive woman with enormous ambition: Hillary Clinton. She famously insulted the country music star Tammy Wynette — and many other women — by taking a song lyric and using it to make a point.

“I’m not sitting here, some little woman standing by my man like Tammy Wynette,” Clinton said on the CBS news program “60 Minutes” while defending her husband and eventual president of the United States, Bill Clinton, against allegations of a long-term extramarital affair with Gennifer Flowers.

As for Ocasio-Cortez, she had scapegoats at the ready during her podcast interview; she blamed Wall Street and rising income inequality for destroying the economy (which is currently booming, thanks to President Donald Trump.)

Also, the newbie politician is stumbling a bit these days when asked how she’s going to pay for all the free giveaways she’s been discussing. Ocasio-Cortez has advocated for government-run health care — as well as a free college education for all Americans (for starters).

When the host asked her how she’d pay for these things, she responded in this fashion: “They say, ‘How are you going to pay for it?’ As though they haven’t used these same ways to pay for unlimited wars, to pay for trillion-dollar tax cuts and tax cut extensions. They use these mechanisms to pay for these things all the time,” she added with dramatic emphasis. “They only want to know — it just seems like their pockets are only empty when we’re talking about education and investing in human capital in the United States, investing in education, health care, housing and investing in the middle class. All of a sudden, there’s nothing left.”

She added, “For me, I think it belies a lack of moral priority, and it’s unfortunate.”

By the way, Ocasio-Cortez — who spent most of her growing-up years in upper Westchester County, New York, one of the most well-to-do areas of the country — claimed in one recent interview that unemployment is low today because people have “two jobs” and are working “70 or 80 hours a week.” Go figure.
