Seth Meyers continued to rail Wednesday night against President Donald Trump on his “comedy” show, this time by making a distasteful and, of course, highly inaccurate analogy.

While continuing to hammer the Trump-Putin summit that took place in Helsinki, Finland, early this week, Meyers actually injected a sexually transmitted disease (STD) into the conversation.

Meyers set up his quasi-joke by referencing a Donald Trump tweet from Wednesday.

“Some people HATE the fact that I got along well with President Putin of Russia. They would rather go to war than see this. It’s called Trump Derangement Syndrome!” Trump tweeted.

Meyers responded to that tweet by saying, “Hey, man, just a tip: Maybe don’t name a derangement syndrome after yourself. The guy who discovered syphilis didn’t name it Steve’s disease.”

Trump didn’t “name” the syndrome after himself. It’s a popular meme that developed in conservative circles in response to the hysterical nature of the anti-Trump media — of which the Meyers show is clearly a member.
