A new report revealing top FBI officials’ “hurry the F up pressure” to obtain warrants surveilling former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page shows the Russian collusion investigation “was infected by the hyper-political bias” against President Donald Trump, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said Friday on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

“Oh, it’s further confirmation that the Trump-Russia investigation was infected by the hyper-political bias against President Trump where they’re looking for excuses to target his team,” said Fitton (pictured above), referencing the emails reported by The Hill’s John Solomon.

Solomon, an opinion contributor and The Hill’s executive vice president for video, noted that the FBI is finally producing documents to the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) inspector general and congressional committees that have long sought the information.

Solomon found that “sources involved in the production, review or investigation” described the memos “to me as ‘damning’ or ‘troubling’ evidence” of anti-Trump bias within the DOJ and FBI “affect[ing] official actions.”

The memos show FBI agent Peter Strzok, a former FBI counterintelligence chief, along with former FBI lawyer Lisa Page and other bureau investigators “rushing” to find “‘derogatory’ information from informants or a ‘pretext’ to accelerate the probe and get a surveillance warrant on figures tied to the future president,” Solomon found.

Fitton told Fox News host Pete Hegseth that the memos provide proof of “an out-of-control investigation that is really abusive in its targeting of not only President Trump, but [also of] people around him.”

After Carter Page complained to former FBI Director James Comey via letter about a leak indicating the FBI was investigating Page, Strzok wrote to Lisa Page in an email in September 2016, “At a minimum, the letter provides us a pretext to interview.”

The FBI later used the infamous Trump-Russia dossier, compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele and funded by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaign, to renew surveillance warrants against Carter Page.

“You had [Carter] Page write a letter complaining about an improper FBI leak, and the response from one of the top FBI officials [was], ‘Well, let’s use it as an excuse to bring him in and interview him,'” Fitton said. “And then they follow that up with the infamous [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] warrants, which … would never have been approved but for their reliance on the Clinton-DNC dossier.”

Fitton said that “spying on Carter Page was a convenient vehicle to get at the Trump operation.”

Strzok and Lisa Page also discussed in an October 2016 email potential talking points for requesting that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe pursue a surveillance warrant against Carter Page prior to the November 8 presidential election, Solomon found.

“At a minimum, that keeps the ‘hurry the F up’ pressure on him,” Strzok wrote.

Another email exchange just after the election showed the counterintelligence team discussing how to share and coordinate lists of names tied to former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort as part of their investigation.

“And then the other aspect of this, which is also in Solomon’s piece, is that right after the election, they are talking about — after the election, President Trump’s elected, they focus on, ‘Well, we have to get all the people tied to Paul Manafort and compare notes and figure out what we’re going to do there,'” Fitton noted.

“So Paul Manafort is being targeted not because of anything he did wrong, but the trigger is President Trump’s election,” Fitton added.

Manafort is now facing a bank fraud trial and is being held in solitary confinement in a federal prison in Virginia.

“There is no Russia collusion, and the only collusion we’re aware of with respect to Russia is Hillary Clinton using Fusion GPS to gather Russian intelligence to smear Donald Trump,” Fitton insisted. “[Special counsel Robert] Mueller ought to be investigating how his investigation started if he’s looking for Russian collusion.”
