A little girl brought smiles to the faces of exhausted firefighters who have been battling the raging Carr Fire in northern California.
The child, identified as Gracie Lutz, age two, handed out burritos to members of Cal Fire (California department of forestry and fire protection) firefighters gathered at the Shasta district fair and event center, as ABC11 and other outlets noted.

Gracie Lutz’s grandfather and two uncles are fighting the Carr Fire. One uncle, Kody Hill, is a Cal Fire engineer, and grandfather Jerry Hill is a bulldozer operator, according to ABC News 11. The child also has another uncle who is on a water tender — a large tanker used to haul water to a fire.
The Carr Fire — which has grown to 103,772 acres — by Monday evening was apparently 23 percent contained. Almost 40,000 people have been evacuated due to the devastating fire, which so far has claimed six lives and destroyed 723 homes.
Crews handling the blaze near Redding, California, seemed hopeful on Monday evening, as the massive fire slowed.

“We’re feeling a lot more optimistic today as we’re starting to gain some ground rather than being in a defensive mode on this fire all the time,” Cal Fire incident commander Bret Gouvea said, as ABC News 11 noted.
