Kim Kardashian appeared on liberal late-night host Jimmy Kimmel’s show on Monday evening to promote the 15th season of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” — but all Kimmel wanted to talk about was President Donald Trump.
Kardashian met with the president earlier this year and helped convince him to pardon Alice Marie Johnson, a 62-year-old woman who was spending a lifetime behind bars for a nonviolent drug crime she committed decades ago.
“This seemed to be the happiest day of his presidency,” Kimmel said to Kardashian as he held up a picture of the reality TV star next to Trump.
“I mean, I walk in and I’m like, I look around and I’m kind of star-struck from the Oval Office, and the first thing I say in our meeting, I say, ‘Holy s***, we’re in the f***ing Oval Office,'” Kardashian said.
“That’s what I said to him. That was the first thing I said. And I had to take a moment to be like, ‘Wait, we’re really here.'”
Kimmel then tried goading Kardashian into saying something negative about the president.
“Yeah, especially weird that he’s there, right?” Kimmel joked.
He then asked Kardashian if she had a list of people she wanted released from prison, and if first lady Melania Trump was on that list.
Kardashian responded by saying she “loves” the first lady.
Kimmel pushed and pushed for her to get political when clearly that was not her intent or interest.
Kimmel then tried getting her to defend her husband Kanye West’s positive words about the president, but she sidestepped the question and said, “But I have nothing bad to say about the president. He’s done something amazing.”
The left-leaning late-night host showed a new level of classless behavior in his interview with Kardashian. He pushed and pushed for her to get political when clearly that was not her intent or interest.
And what good would saying something negative about the president do for her? As ridiculous as it may seem, she has done great work with the president and might continue to do so. Meanwhile, Kimmel will simply continue to be a snarky troll behind a desk — pushing and pushing for people to join in on his Trump Derangement Syndrome.
