Three kids in Aurora, Colorado, were caught on a home surveillance camera doing the right thing, returning a wallet full of cash to its rightful owner.

Haylie Wenke, Reagan Wenke and a third youngster were seen approaching the front door of a home when a robotic voice told them to leave a message — and that a camera was recording them, Colorado’s KDVR news reported.

“We found your wallet outside of your car and we just thought we would give it back to you,” 13-year-old Haylie Wenke is seen saying, as she moves to put the wallet down near the front door. “I’m going to put it over here so no one takes any money. You’re welcome. Thank you.”

The residents said the wallet contained about $700 inside and belonged to their son, Nigel Drake.

“We just thought it would be a good thing to do,” Haylie Wenke later said, KDVR reported. “It just feels good because we really didn’t need the money. So we just decided to give it back.”

The young woman said she found the wallet in a driveway while she, her six-year-old brother Reagan, and another friend were riding their bikes on their way to a water park.

Drake’s father posted the video on Facebook, hoping to find the three honest kids to reward them.

The video has been liked and shared thousands of times already.

Hurray for a good deed — and may it inspire others to do the right thing as well, no matter the situation.
