A Florida man clearly went into meltdown mode earlier this week, as he harassed and threatened a lawmaker and his family over the Trump administration’s border policy.

Laurence Key of Stuart, Florida, allegedly threatened to kill Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla., pictured above) and his three young children over the federal immigration policy, as Breitbart reported.

Border laws are meant to keep this country as safe as possible. And, stressing the the desire to keep migrant families together while their status is sorted out as well as guard the safety of the American people, President Donald Trump on Wednesday issued an executive order ending the separation of these illegal immigrant families at the border.

Rep. Mast, an Army veteran who lost both legs while serving in Afghanistan, has not issued a statement on the threat or on Key’s subsequent arrest, which happened Tuesday.

Key reportedly warned an intern in Mast’s D.C. office by phone that he was going to “find the congressman’s kids and kill them,” according to court documents filed in U.S. District Court.

“If you are going to separate kids at the border, I’m going to kill his kids,” Key said in one of 478 calls to Mast’s office, court filings reveal, noted Breitbart.

Key also allegedly contacted Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Bill Nelson (D-Fla.).

“Key told an FBI investigator and [the] Martin County sheriff’s deputy he never threatened to kill Mast’s children, but admitted he said, ‘Mast should be separated from his kids’ if he supported the Trump administration policy,” said TreasureCoast.com.

The Stuart man was charged with threatening to kidnap or injure a person and is scheduled for arraignment on July 2 in St. Lucie County, Florida.
