As if there could not be more controversy surrounding Joy Reid’s past, more allegations have surfaced.

This week, it was the MSNBC national correspondent’s radio career that’s come into question. Fox News on Thursday released a report after speaking to Reid’s former co-workers from WTPS Miami. Most notably, Andre Eggelletion, who hosted the station’s morning show with Reid, said the MSNBC employee created “the most toxic work environment I’ve ever experienced.”

“It was a very unhealthy work environment because of her attitude,” he told Fox. “She attacked me on a constant basis while I was there. I was even once threatened with physical violence during a break with her.”

The threat of violence came when the two disagreed on whether a news piece should be covered. Eggelletion wanted to cover it; Reid did not. Since Eggelletion was the lead host, he suggested Reid call the station manager to resolve it.

He claimed she responded by saying, “If you ever speak to me like that again, I’m coming over there and it’s gonna be me and you.”

Eggelletion is apparently not the only one to have this recollection of Reid. When Fox News asked Lee Michaels, who was the national program director of Syndication One (which owned WTPS at the time), he backed up Eggelletion’s claims by saying, “It absolutely happened — 100 percent.”

“I talked to the general manager, and I told him this has to be dealt with in a very firm manner because it was inappropriate, and it just can’t be tolerated,” Michaels said. “The higher-ups at the station then staged an intervention [and] warned her she would be fired if it happened again.”

These allegations come at a time that other parts of Reid’s ugly past have been revealed. Many of her old blog posts have been criticized for homophobia, 9/11 conspiracy theories, and praise for a commentator who told Ann Coulter to “kill herself” in 2006.

Although Reid said those old blog posts might have been hacked, Eggelletion told Fox News they were in line with his recollections of Reid’s character from around the same time period. He said the homophobic content seemed authentic because he said she once called then-Republican Florida Sen. Charlie Crist “Miss Charlie” on the air.

Reid is merely one of many left-wing television personalities, such as TBS’ Samantha Bee, HBO’s Bill Maher, ABC’s Joy Behar, and ESPN’s Keith Olbermann, who are being held to a different standard than those on the Right. All these people are receiving a pass for their rhetoric at a time that ABC fired Roseanne Barr from her show, “Roseanne,” for a couple of ignorant tweets — for which she immediately apologized.

If MSNBC had integrity, it would fire Reid. It’s really that simple.

Think of how NBC cut ties with Donald Trump before he was president because it did not like his criticisms of illegal immigration about the time he announced his candidacy. The network decided it would not air the Miss Universe pageants or any new seasons of “The Celebrity Apprentice” with Trump as the host.

If mainstream media companies want people to believe they are not biased, perhaps they should start by holding people on the Left to the same standards they use for anyone with right-of-center ideas.
