Former “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart literally took over Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” stage on Thursday night to address President Donald Trump and the most recent news about the border crisis.

While the bit was supposed to have Stewart pumping up the anti-Trump resistance, it did little more than prove that whatever Stewart charisma helped carry “The Daily Show” to success for years is now long gone.

In the new surprise appearance, Stewart appeared from under Colbert’s desk — Colbert used to work on “The Daily Show” and then hosted the spinoff “The Colbert Report” — to thunderous applause from the audience.

Colbert then disappeared so that Stewart could directly address the president.

“I know you’re upset about all the criticism you’ve taken and the ‘fake news’ and the ‘fake late-night shows,'” said Stewart. “It’s just we’re all still having trouble adjusting to your presidency as it goes into its 500th year,” said Stewart.

The ex-television host then ripped into Trump for his verbal attacks on his critics and his treatment of dictators such as Kim Jong-un.

Stewart, in his tired rant, also tackled the current immigration crisis.

“You casually separated people seeking asylum from their children, their babies,” Stewart said. “It made me realize something: You may be orange. You may like hamburgers. You may be a clown. But you are no Ronald McDonald.”

“By not yielding, we will prevail,” said Stewart.

He eventually ended his talk by trying to drum up energy for the anti-Trump resistance.

“What Donald Trump wants is for us to stop calling his cruelty and fear and divisiveness wrong, and join him in calling it right. This we cannot do,” said Stewart. “By not yielding, we will prevail.”
