Director Joss Whedon has been vocal about his alleged “feminist” credentials, but his recent vile comments about first daughter and presidential adviser Ivanka Trump demonstrate that his respect for women runs only skin-deep.

The co-writer of the recent “Justice League” and director of “Avengers” fame is currently the creator/executive producer of the ABC show “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”

After Samantha Bee’s explicit use of a four-letter C-word to describe Ivanka Trump made waves throughout the media, the Hollywood director said he wished the late-night host actually had taken things further.

“Ivanka legitimized trump by being pretty & seeming sane, & libs created a (kinda sexist) Rapunzel narrative that she was ‘trapped.’ She’s from a crime family, she married into a crime family, she’s a grown up. She will do as much damage as she can get away with. Sam was too kind,” Whedon recently tweeted.

The filmmaker once again has used his purported “feminism” to shield his misogyny. While he claims the narrative that Ivanka is “trapped” is “kinda sexist,” he also says Samantha Bee’s reference to the first daughter as a “feckless c***” was being “too kind.”

It’s a familiar story for the Hollywood producer. Kai Cole, Whedon’s ex-wife, blew his credibility to shreds with an explosive letter that exposed the director’s hypocrisy when it came to “supporting” women.

“I was uncomfortable with the attention Joss paid other women,” she wrote last summer. “He always had a lot of female friends, but he told me it was because his mother raised him as a feminist, so he just liked women better. He said he admired and respected females, he didn’t lust after them. I believed him and trusted him. On the set of ‘Buffy,’ Joss decided to have his first secret affair.”

Although Whedon claims Cole’s letter is full of “inaccuracies and misrepresentations,” it is worth reading.

“Despite understanding, on some level, that what he was doing was wrong, he never conceded the hypocrisy of being out in the world preaching feminist ideals, while at the same time taking away my right to make choices for my life and my body based on the truth. He deceived me for 15 years, so he could have everything he wanted. I believed, everyone believed, that he was one of the good guys,” Cole revealed, among other things.

“Now I see how he used his relationship with me as a shield,” she added, “both during and after our marriage, so no one would question his relationships with other women or scrutinize his writing as anything other than feminist.”

In a similar fashion, it seems Whedon has used Samantha Bee’s insulting remarks about Ivanka Trump as a chance to fully express his hatred for the influential woman.

There are other examples of Whedon’s dislike of women who disagree with him, so his Bee comments don’t come as too much of a surprise.

Whedon was also not alone in his degrading remarks about Ivanka Trump. Actress Sally Field also flashed her “woman card” to bash the first daughter.

“I like Samantha Bee a lot, but she is flat wrong to call Ivanka a c***. C***s are powerful, beautiful, nurturing and honest,” she wrote.

Actress Minnie Driver also gave an oddly similar show of support for Samantha Bee’s remarks.

“That was the wrong word for Samantha Bee to have used,” Driver wrote. “But mostly because (to paraphrase the French) Ivanka has neither the warmth nor the depth.”

If these Hollywood stars have a problem with the “soft” language Bee used to refer to the first daughter, they might want to take it up with TBS’ producers and legal team — who somehow approved of Samantha Bee’s script.

President Donald Trump, alluding to Roseanne Barr’s abrupt loss of her ABC show this week after she made an insulting tweet about Valerie Jarrett, recently asked about the media’s double standards.

“Why aren’t they firing no talent Samantha Bee for the horrible language used on her low ratings show?” Trump tweeted Friday. “A total double standard but that’s O.K., we are Winning, and will be doing so for a long time to come!”

Samantha Bee apologized for the anti-Ivanka bit, and TBS scrubbed the Bee video; it’s been taken down on major distributors’ websites.
