The star of the current blockbusters “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and “Avengers: Infinity War” showed his support for first responders recently when he made a surprise appearance at a movie theater event whose goal was to raise money for the ailing kids of law enforcement officers.

Chris Pratt surprised the guests, many of them police officers, who were attending a charity showing of “Jurassic World” at the Vacaville Brenden Theaters in Vacaville, California. A portion of the money made from the tickets sold was donated to the cancer-stricken children of police officers.

Pratt, 39, reportedly has a brother, Daniel, who is a deputy with the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. Daniel Pratt helped make the surprise appearance happen.

While in the theater, Chris Pratt took photos with fans and sat and watched his new movie with everybody.

“The room was filled with both shock and laughter for the entire event,” the Vacaville Police Department wrote about the event afterward on Facebook. “Most importantly, those who truly needed this fun day got some time to enjoy the festivities alongside their families.”

With all of the dissension, anger and vitriol coming out of the Hollywood community today, it’s incredible to see someone with star power like Pratt using his success to promote unity and do some good in the world.

The actor recently appeared at the MTV Movie Awards, where he also had nothing but positive energy to give. He shared advice with young people while onstage and encouraged them to pray. “It is so good for your soul,” he said.
