Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain has been found dead of a reported suicide.

The “Parts Unknown” host’s death was confirmed by his network, CNN.

“It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain,” the network said in a public statement on Friday morning. “His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink, and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us, and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time.”

Bourdain, who was 61 years old, was in France filming an episode of his television show at the time of his death.

Fellow chef Eric Ripert found Bourdain unresponsive in his hotel room on Friday morning.

Beyond his cooking and expansive traveling for “Parts Unknown,” Bourdain was known for his writing. He authored the best-selling and highly influential “Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly” in 2000.

He went on to host “A Cook’s Tour” on the Food Network and then “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations” on the Travel Channel. He eventually landed at CNN, where he hosted his highly popular “Parts Unknown” program. The show was airing its 11th season.

Even President Donald Trump reacted to the chef’s death.

“Very sad,” he said to gathered press on the White House lawn on Friday. He then give his condolences to Bourdain’s family and added, “He was quite a character.”

Bourdain was twice married and twice divorced and is survived by his daughter, Ariane, who was born in 2007.

He was dating actress Asia Argento at the time of his death.
