Rosie O’Donnell May Have Some Legal Trouble in Her Future

It appears Rosie O’Donnell may have some potential trouble with the authorities.

A report in the New York Post indicates that the outspoken liberal used variations of her name and different addresses to donate a combined $5,400 over the legal limit in political contributions to various candidates and action committees.

O’Donnell, who gave over $90,000 in political contributions in the 2017-18 election cycle, says she uses a platform — ActBlue — which she thought automatically limited her donations to the legal limit.

“Nothing nefarious,” she told the Post. “I was not choosing to over-donate.”

She also said, “My anxiety is quelled by donating to those opposing Trump [and] his agenda — especially at night — when most of these were placed.”

Though the mainstream media have been relatively silent when it comes to O’Donnell and her donations, one person has been outspoken about the potential lawbreaking.

Filmmaker and author Dinesh D’Souza sees potential political bias in the case of O’Donnell.

For context, D’Souza pled guilty to violating Federal Election Commission rules via illegal donations to a Senate candidate in 2014. He was sentenced to five years probation and eight months in a halfway house — and he paid a $30,000 fine.

D’Souza had been critical of the Obama administration through his films at the time — and many saw the case as politically motivated.
