As evidence of even more liberal lunacy in 2018 when it comes to parenting, Australian “sexuality expert” and author Deanne Carson has now suggested babies should “give consent” before allowing their diapers to be changed. What?
She’s experiencing ridicule on social media for this, too — and good thing.
ABC News Australia asked Carson the age of her “clients.”
She replied, “We work with children from three years old. We work with parents from birth.”
“From birth?” the host responded, to which Carson replied, “Yeah, just about how to set up a culture of consent in their homes. So, ‘I’m going to change your nappy now, is that OK?'”
Carson added, “Of course the baby isn’t going to respond, ‘Yes, Mum, that’s awesome, I’d love to have my nappy changed.’ But if you leave a space and wait for body language and wait to make eye contact, then you’re letting that child know that their response matters.”
A father of three from Massachusetts was flabbergasted.
“If this keeps up, we’re going to hamstring parents into having no authority in their own homes,” he told LifeZette. “And what about babies who should grow to know that their parents will care for them? If you’re always asking permission for even matters of hygiene, the child isn’t going to feel secure.”
No means no. LOL! How laughable. If you're asking permission to change a baby's diaper, from the baby, maybe you need to reassess your understanding of what a diaper change represents.

“Plus,” he added, “the shorter amount of time a family has to live with the smell of a messy diaper, the better!”
A mother of four from New York also said, “Babies are babies, and good and attentive parents know exactly what to do and how to care for their children. To say we should leave this sort of thing up to the infant seriously crosses the line into craziness.”
Tellingly, Carson did not share advice or tips to parents for when their babies refuse to “consent” to having their diapers changed.
Hold on. Asking your own baby for consent to change their dirty used diapers? I think when they cry about it they want a fresh one. #Stupidity
