For someone who is hot on the heels of threatening to sue oil companies for “murder,” Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn’t seem too concerned with the environment right now.

The actor is offering up a “helicopter ride over Los Angeles” to one lucky fan as part of a fundraiser for the nonprofit group After-School-All-Stars. The winning fan will also be able to have lunch with Schwarzenegger and smoke cigars with him.

“LAST CHANCE to get to the choppa! Join me for a helicopter ride, lunch at my favorite spot and I’ll even give you a little life advice,” Schwarzenegger wrote on Facebook about the fundraiser.

It’s great to see the former governor taking the time to help a charitable cause. But certainly there’s some hypocrisy connected to his environmentalism. He says he wants to sue oil companies for murder one day — and then the next he wants to jump into a gas-guzzling helicopter for money.

It goes hand-in-hand with the action star’s persona, though. He was reportedly the first to buy the carbon footprint-enhancing Humvee in the early ’90s.

He may talk a big game — but it seems Schwarzenegger is only worried about a carbon footprint if it’s not his own.
