Late-night host Seth Meyers gave a revealing glimpse into the current leftist psyche in a recent episode of his show: Meyers blasted the president for not having any serious policy ideas and forcing everyone else to take him seriously.

“This is one of the worst things about having Trump as president. Every time he goes on TV and blurts the dumbest things in the world, the rest of us have to debate it like it’s a real idea,” said Meyers.

The late-night host was taking issue with the president’s proposal that teachers who have previous firearms training should be allowed to engage in conceal carry within schools — thus deterring a potential shooter from wanting to enter the building with a gun.

Meyers continued, “He [Trump] said, ‘Hey, I think we should take incredibly stressed-out people who make $30,000 a year and give them guns.’ And then Wolf Blitzer has to stand there and go, ‘S***, well, let’s ask the panel. He said it. So now I got to ask you all. You have to give me answers like it’s a real thing.'”

Though Meyers acted like it’s the “dumbest thing in the world,” many people share the president’s belief about allowing concealed carry within schools. Places that declare themselves gun-free zones are more often the victim of gun violence — so to introduce the element of guns into schools makes the property a lot less attractive to a deranged shooter.

This doesn’t matter to Meyers, though. Because Trump said it, the talk-show host is going to immediately disagree with it instead of actually debating the merits of such a policy.

If he wants to talk politics, perhaps Meyers should drop the Trump hysteria and do a little more critical thinking.
