LeBron James Talks Smack About President Trump — and Gets Smacked Back

NBA superstar's profanity-laced video is far from a slam dunk with American sports fans

Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star forward LeBron James said President Donald Trump doesn’t “give a f***” about Americans in a video released Thursday.

On “The Ingraham Angle” on Thursday night, host Laura Ingraham described the “rich, spoiled pro-athlete’s” rant as “barely intelligible.”

“Unfortunately, a lot of kids, and some adults, take these ignorant comments seriously,” she noted.

Then she added a bit of advice for NBA star James and also for Golden State Warriors player Kevin Durant, who also appeared in the video.

“Keep the political commentary to yourself. Or, as someone once said, ‘Shut up and dribble.'”

The man who countless youngsters hail as a sports hero spewed the obviously inaccurate and R-rated insult against the sitting president of the United States in a video filmed in Ohio in January and released Thursday by Uninterrupted, a site he co-founded, as the New York Post reported.

In the video, he appears with Durant and ESPN SportsCenter anchor Cari Champion.

James didn’t come by his disdain for President Trump and his policies recently, nor has he kept it under wraps.

In one particularly memorable example, he used the Twitter platform to communicate this to his 40 million+ followers:

That gem from last fall came on the heels of Trump’s calling out of basketball players who chose to kneel during the national anthem. When he followed that up by disinviting the Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry from coming to the White House, James didn’t take kindly to it.

Durant’s political inclinations appear similar to those of James. In the Uninterrupted video — part of the “Rolling with the Champion” series — Durant shared his feelings on the current political climate as well.

“When we’re talking about leadership and what’s going on in our country, it’s all about leadership,” Durant said in the video. “I learned that playing basketball. I learned a lot of life skills from playing basketball. You need to empower people; you need to encourage people. That’s what builds a great team. And I feel like our team, as a country, is not ran [sic] by a great coach.”

Though Durant — and James — may believe America is lacking in leadership, many of this country’s sports fans have their own feelings. Some of their responses to the video appear below.
