Ingraham Tells CPAC Crowd to Fight for the Trump Agenda

Laura Ingraham said Friday morning the fight for the Trump agenda and against the bureaucracy is not over — and conservatives have to “agitate, agitate, agitate.”

Ingraham, the Fox News host of “The Ingraham Angle” and co-founder of LifeZette, delighted a crowd of thousands with her rallying speech, given at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, held this year at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Oxon Hill, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C.

And she kicked it off with a joke from comedian Tim Allen, who compared President Donald Trump’s political enemies to a rather embarrassing disease.

“Liberals are kind of like herpes,” Ingraham told a packed Potomac Ballroom. “Just when you think you have them beat, they come back again. There’s no cure.”

To prove her point, Ingraham — a former speechwriter for President Ronald Reagan — reviewed media quotes about the Republican president in the White House.

“He seemed out of his depth,” Ingraham said, reading a quote from an unnamed media source. “He was evasive, fumbling, and off-balance.”

Ingraham said the media pounced on the bickering of aides in the White House. It all sounded like 2017 media clips.

“[Liberals are] not mad because they are winning. They are infuriated because they are losing.”

But Ingraham surprised the crowd when she noted the media quotes were about Reagan — not Trump. She said the battle for the conservative and “America First” Trump agenda is similar to the battle the Reagan conservatives fought in the 1980s.

“It was no cakewalk in the 1980s,” she said, but Ingraham assured many in the young audience that 2017 and 2018 will be a lot like the prosperous 1980s. In the future, people will recall the Trump years fondly, Ingraham said.

But first, the Republicans and conservatives have to fight the liberals. And Ingraham explained why the Democrats and liberals are obsessed with fighting Trump — even suggesting impeachment.

“This is how it was in the 1980s,” said Ingraham. “[Liberals are] not mad because they are winning. They are infuriated because they are losing.”

Liberals look around and see Trump exceling, with good results, said Ingraham, who is also the radio host of “The Laura Ingraham Show.” It’s bad news for them.

“This is a great time to be an American,” said Ingraham. “This is a great time to invest in America.”

“This is a great time to be a college conservative,” she said, evoking cheers from the young people in the large audience.

Ingraham noted Trump is a disruptive leader and is holding China accountable in trade. He is demanding the government be held accountable and is questioning the authority of the administrative state — the “deep state” of bureaucrats, as Ingraham calls it.

“Focus on the things you can change,” Ingraham said.

And he’s even questioning the effectiveness of the FBI, Ingraham said.

The mother of three told the thousands of CPAC attendees, many of them activists, to make goals they can accomplish and work for the good of the United States.

“Focus on the things you can change,” Ingraham said.
