Ingraham: Chris Cuomo a ‘Pundit Masquerading as a News Anchor’
The CNN show host pelted Kellyanne Conway on Tuesday, but she hit back harder and scored: Kellyanne 1, Cuomo 0!
LifeZette co-founder Laura Ingraham blasted CNN anchor Chris Cuomo following his explosive exchange with White House counselor Kellyanne Conway on “New Day,” saying on “The Laura Ingraham Show” that Cuomo “is a pundit masquerading as a news anchor.”
Cuomo and Conway had an intense exchange Tuesday when Conway defended President Donald Trump’s decision to endorse U.S. Senate candidate Roy Moore (R-Ala.). Moore, 70, has been accused of making unwanted sexual advances toward teenagers, including a 14-year-old girl, when he was in his 30s. He has denied the allegations.
The CNN host claimed the president “seems to have no moral standard at play.” Conway argued that Trump “has tremendous moral standards” and has called the Moore allegations “troubling” while saying that they are decades old — and should have come out years ago during Moore’s years of public service and various campaigns.
Cuomo appeared unconvinced, and the two argued on a range of topics related to Trump and his agenda. Conway also criticized Cuomo for displaying “hypocrisy” in not calling out Sen. Al Franken as he has been calling out Moore. Franken has fielded several accusations of sexual harassment, including one case with photographic evidence, where he is seen grabbing radio host Leeann Tweeden’s breasts through her clothes while smiling back at the camera.
“It is a wonder that anyone watches CNN at all,” Ingraham said. “The Establishment media is really just comprised of a bunch of pundits. Chris Cuomo is a pundit masquerading as a news anchor.”
Ingraham, who hosts “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News, said that she doesn’t “pretend to be an unbiased source at Fox.” But pointing to morning shows on CNN and MSNBC in particular, Ingraham said: “They’re filled with people who like to hold themselves out as unbiased sources of news.”
Bashing the “moralizing” from liberal-leaning news anchors about how Democrats “love to protect women” and children, Ingraham said: “The idea that the Democrats are great protectors of women, that went out the window with Ted Kennedy …”
“That went out the window when the Democrat party became the party of abortion, that went out the window when the Democrats became the party of Bill Clinton, and protected and shielded a rapist for all those years,” Ingraham added. “So you don’t have any — you have no credibility on this.”
