Sermon Spotlight: How to Find a Hero

Fr. Mike Schmitz of Minnesota discusses the 'Wonder Woman' franchise — and the praiseworthy qualities we look for today

We always looked up to superheroes when we were younger — but what made them so great?

Father Mike Schmitz, chaplain for Newman Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Minnesota Duluth, discusses the qualities that many people admire and seek — and exactly what’s at work here.

“What is it that makes a hero? In this video, Fr. Mike Schmitz offers a definition we can all live up to. Using the ‘Wonder Woman’ movie as an example, he explains how a hero, or heroine, is characterized more by his or her praiseworthy human qualities than by any superhuman ones,” reads the video’s description.
