One would think that considering the barbaric and misogynistic nature of FGM the Left would be mobilized, demanding action to stop it. But of course most liberals avoid discussion of the practice, and at times are even defensive of it, Jasser noted.

“What happens I think is a cultural relativism,” he said. “In the Left that aren’t anti-religious that are into this cultural relativism, I think there’s some bigotry — they have this inherent bigotry of low expectations and because they have sort of a self-loathing of Western society they’ll say, ‘Well, who are we to impose our values?'”

Jasser stressed the duty Western leaders and society have to insist immigrants assimilate.

“It is incumbent on our society to teach our immigrants and people from other cultures that these are our unalienable rights under God,” he said. “The cultural relativism is, I think, part of sort of a loss of who we are as a country.”

“Putting a wall around America” is “important, and it’s a privilege to come here and not a right,” said Jasser. But ultimately “it’s not about immigration, it’s about what are we doing to maintain that social contract with everyone in society — that we share common values… [and teach] the values of our Founding Fathers and our Constitution.”

The destruction of national identity and this moral relativism, both pushed by the Left, create the conditions ripe for Islamism to thrive, he noted.

“Those values are being lost and they’re not being taught … and the Left loves that,” Jasser said. “They would love to see our national identity disappear. I mean, that’s what Soros funds all the time, he’s funding a constant barrage of different organizations that are about dissolving national identity and creating collectivist leftist movements.”

“And that’s why the Islamists work so well with the far Left,” he said. “Collectivism will look for different receptacles in which to advance the nullification of national identity and moral identity.”[lz_pagination]
