LifeZette Editor-in-Chief Laura Ingraham slammed Anthony Scaramucci, President Donald Trump’s new communications director, after The New Yorker published an errant and vulgarity-filled interview he gave Wednesday night.

In the interview, published about 6 p.m. Thursday, Scaramucci blasted Reince Priebus, Trump’s chief of staff, and claimed Steve Bannon, Trump’s chief political director, was working for the White House to “build his personal brand.”

Speaking to New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza, Scaramucci expressed anger that leaks appeared in Politico and The New Yorker about various White House issues. Scaramucci apparently did not ask Lizza to treat the conversation as off the record.

It was Scaramucci’s remarks about Bannon that may have been the most inflammatory.

“I’m not Steve Bannon, I’m not trying to suck my own c***,” said Scaramucci, speaking of Bannon, who opposed Scaramucci’s appointment. “I’m not trying to build my own brand off the f***ing strength of the president. I’m here to serve the country.”

Ingraham said Scaramucci crossed lines of vulgarity and entered territory where one damages the White House.

“I like Scaramucci — I think he is very talented, but this episode is humiliating to the president,” said Ingraham. “I think it ultimately humiliates [Trump].”

Ingraham was guest-hosting “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” after Carlson broadcast an interview with Attorney General Jeff Sessions while the two men were in El Salvador.

“It does not serve the communication of this agenda well,” said Ingraham. “I’m probably going to tick them off by saying it, but I say it out of deep love and affection … I’m sorry, but to go after Steve Bannon … He’s there in the White House until 11 p.m. every night … Bannon doesn’t need to build his brand. He’s trying to help the country and help Trump.”

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich appeared with Ingraham on Carlson’s show, but it was his remarks on “The Laura Ingraham Show” on Thursday morning that rocked the White House press corps.

“I think Scaramucci is full of himself,” said Gingrich. “I think he got down here from New York, and he is all excited. Frankly, he is talking more than he is thinking … I think that Scaramucci had better be a lot more careful than he has been. He obviously likes the limelight. He obviously likes being in the media. I would say right now he is being more pugnacious than effective.”

Later in the evening, Scaramucci tweeted that he made the mistake of trusting a reporter.

“It won’t happen again,” Scaramucci said.
