Republicans have pledged to continue to use Pelosi as an albatross for Democratic candidates in moderate, swing districts.

Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF) executive director Corry Bliss told The Hill that Republicans will continue to tie Democratic candidates to Pelosi during the 2018 and 2020 elections.

“Nancy Pelosi will be front and center in the millions of dollars we’re going to spend over the next two years across the country,” Bliss said. “This midterm is going to be a referendum on Nancy Pelosi and her San Francisco liberal values.”

Pelosi has remained adamant her position is not in jeopardy.

“I feel very confident in the support that I have in my caucus,” Pelosi said just days after Ossoff lost to Handel in Georgia. “No, my timing is not about them.”

“I respect any opinion that my members have,” she added, “but my decision about how long I stay is not up to them.”

Trump has also weighed in on the Pelosi problem in a tweet on June 22 that also targeted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

“I certainly hope the Democrats do not force Nancy P out. That would be very bad for the Republican Party — and please let Cryin’ Chuck stay!” Trump tweeted.
