His Head Bowed in Prayer, Trump Shares Faith and Hope

'We are going to see another great spiritual awakening,' one evangelical pastor said after a remarkable event

In a stunning display of faith that hasn’t gotten much attention given the incessant political infighting and turmoil in Washington, President Donald Trump bowed his head in prayer as evangelical leaders stood over him in the Oval Office earlier this week.

A photo circulated on social media showing Trump surrounded by individuals praying with outstretched arms.

Evangelical preacher Rodney Howard-Browne and his wife Adonica, along with other faith leaders, laid hands on Trump and prayed for the president.

“[Monday] was very surreal for @ahowardbrowne & I,” Rodney wrote on the couple’s Facebook page on July 11. He added, “Thirty years ago we came from South Africa to America as missionaries. Yesterday I was asked by Pastor Paula White-Cain to pray over our 45th president.”

As any Christian knows, this experience is quite an honor.

“What a humbling moment standing in the Oval Office,” Rodney wrote. “We are going to see another great spiritual awakening.”

As noted in the words of the Gospel of Matthew, where two or three are gathered in the name of Jesus, “I am there in the midst of them.”

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven,” says Matthew 18:19.

Rodney said the group prayed for supernatural wisdom, guidance and protection.

Johnnie Moore, a former vice president at Liberty University, posted the same photo to Facebook. “What an honor it is to pray for the president in the Oval Office,” Moore wrote in the caption.

“Really wonderful visit with President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Pence after a hugely productive day-long meeting with evangelical leaders and the Office of Public Liaison,” Moore wrote in another Facebook post on July 11.

Jack Graham, pastor of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Texas, was also in attendance. “Please join us in interceding for our nation and its leaders,” Graham wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
