Despite hopes that CMT would revive “Last Man Standing,” the popular and right-of-center sitcom, those talks have reportedly broken down due to production costs.

After it was very questionably canceled, “Last Man Standing” has had fans pleading for someone to give new life to the popular comedy. It was the second most-watched sitcom on ABC before it was short-circuited, and thousands upon thousands of fans have signed petitions on behalf of the show.

The circumstances surrounding the cancellation more than suggest politics played some role, as Allen is an outspoken conservative who has been supportive of President Trump.

So any network that picks up the series would get built-in press and be almost instantly lauded by conservative fans.
