Savage: ‘Seems to Be Open Season on Trump Supporters’

Conservative radio host attacked in San Francisco, 'we have mayhem, we have anarchy'

Conservative talk radio host Michael Savage claims he was targeted and violently attacked Tuesday night.

Savage, with his dog, Teddy, was finishing up dinner Tuesday night at Servino Ristorante in Tiburon, California, north of San Francisco, when an unnamed assailant charged up to Savage and began yelling, reported area blogger Rich Lieberman.

“I was leaving Servino’s restaurant when a total stranger followed me out of the restaurant and confronted me,” Savage said in a statement released to Lieberman. “He said, ‘Are you Michael Weeeener'” — Weiner is Savage’s real surname — “I turned to him and said, ‘Go away, I don’t know who you are,'” Savage continued.

“There’s open season, Laura,” he said. “I suggest you be very cautious wherever you go.”

When Savage attempted to leave, the assailant “pushed me and I fell down,” said Savage. “He moved toward me to push me down and he shoved my 10-pound poodle out of the way to get to me.”

Dan Horowitz, Savage’s attorney, confirmed with Lieberman that the radio host would press charges. “We’re going to seek felony charges against the man, and we’re going to investigate this as a hate crime because of Michael’s political views,” said Horowitz.

The attack on Savage appears to be part of the larger pattern in which conservatives and Trump supporters across have been viciously assaulted — possibly as the result of a sustained propaganda campaign by the mainstream media and Democratic Party which has painted President Donald Trump and his supporters as “bigoted,” “racist,” and “fascist.”

“While I cannot comment on this specific assault on me and my dog, I can talk in general,” Savage said Thursday on “The Laura Ingraham Show.”

“There seems to be open season on Trump supporters,” said Savage. “In Berkeley, the vermin with headscarves bashed conservatives, beat up an old woman — pulled her hair,” he said.

“The rotten, stinking, useless police did not arrest anyone in Berkeley,” Savage continued. “We have mayhem, we have anarchy, the police have been totally turned into capons by the legal profession.”

“There’s open season, Laura,” he said. “I suggest you be very cautious wherever you go.”
