Student Gets Lower Grade Because She Didn’t Bash Trump

Teachers tasked by taxpayers with educating their children are instead inserting their own anti-Trump biases into their lesson plans.

A Staten Island, New York, educator teacher placed an anti-President Trump question onto a middle school homework assignment — and then defended it as “freedom of speech,” reported The New York Post.

“Please keep your political views to yourself and do not try to influence my children on them. Thank you,” the dad wrote to the teacher.

Vincent Ungro, a dad from Annadale, New York, has an 11-year-old daughter who attends I.S. (Intermediate School) 75. She asked him for help with her vocabulary homework last Friday night because she was trying to fill in the blanks from a word bank to complete her assignment — and was really puzzled.

“President Trump speaks in a very superior and _________ manner insulting many people. He needs to be more __________ so that the American people respect and admire him,” read one homework sentence.

The next question was: “Barack Obama set a _________ when he became the first African-American president.”

And what were the choices for the two questions, you ask? These three words: “haughty,” “humble,” and “precedent.” You can guess which ones were meant to be the “correct” answers in this teacher’s mind.

Ungro, 46, told his daughter not to fill in those blanks — and wrote a note to the teacher, Adria Zawatsky, on the homework sheet, as The Post noted. “Please keep your political views to yourself and do not try to influence my children on them. Thank you,” he wrote.

Zawatsky responded by taking 15 points off the girl’s grade for the three blank spaces — giving Ungro’s daughter an 85. Ungaro called this move “vindictive.”

LifeZette reached out to Ken Zapata, the principal of I.S. 75, but as of publication time had not received a response.

The dad of four, whose pre-teen son goes to the same school, also got an email from Zawatsky, the teacher. “Firstly, I do not believe I was expressing a political view at all on my vocabulary sheet. My reference to President Trump was about his personality traits rather than his ability as a president,” the teacher wrote.

“This woman is forcing my child to put words on a piece of paper describing our president in a disparaging manner,” Ungro told The Post Thursday. “Her political opinion should be left at home.”

Incredibly, the teacher then compared her job with the job the hysterical mainstream media is doing. “The media is nonstop on very similar references. This is considered freedom of speech and I feel I have the same right as they do.”

“That teacher should be fired,” said one dad in New York, a father of four. “How is her behavior considered acceptable?”

The Post reported that this teacher makes $102,000 a year in salary. Principal Zapata reportedly spoke to Zawatsky, and a disciplinary letter was placed in her file, officials said.

On the opposite coast, a student at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California, who filmed professor Olga Perez Stable Cox’s description of Trump’s election win to her class last December as an “act of terrorism,” has been suspended. Caleb O’Neil filmed Cox, 66, labeling the president a “white supremacist” during a psychology and human sexuality class, The Orange County Register reported. He sent the clip to the college’s Republican student group anonymously and they shared it online, prompting complaints against the professor.

O’Neil, a 19-year-old sophomore, revealed Wednesday he was suspended for sharing the video. The university issued a letter notifying him he had violated the student code of conduct by filming the professor without her knowledge. He must now write an essay explaining why he shared the video and apologize to Cox — or he will be suspended for an entire semester and the summer term as well, said Fox News.

Bill Becker, the teen’s attorney, called the punishment a “leftist attack” on conservatives. Cox said he filmed his teacher because he wanted video proof of her liberalism, and he also said he was convinced she would begin grading him harshly because he was a Trump supporter — he often wears pro-Trump clothing. He previously told the Republicans club at the college that he felt “censored and bullied if I did not agree with her opinions,” the Daily Mail reported.

In the lecture, Cox told students: “Our nation is divided, we have been assaulted, it’s an act of terrorism.” She further described Trump as a “white supremacist” and said Vice President Mike Pence was “one of the most anti-gay people in the country.” Cox defended her comments, saying later she was only repeating what people around the country were feeling.

“My privacy has been demolished. And that’s awful. I’m a very private person. And it’s very scary,” she told The Orange County Register about being filmed.

This is not education — this is indoctrination. And it’s all courtesy of hard-working taxpayers.

The school’s Republican body, which filed a complaint against her when the footage was shared last year, is campaigning for Caleb O’Neil to be spared any punishment. Its president, Joshua Recalde-Martinez, called Cox’s rant “indoctrination” last year. He was present to support O’Neil at a press conference Wednesday.

The group has also launched the hashtag “JusticeForCaleb” on Facebook and describes the college’s decision as an “assault on their basic amendment rights.”

Schools around the nation, both secondary and post-secondary, have been unabashed in their disdain and disrespect for the new president.

San Francisco Bay-area schools included the following lesson plan instructions, according to the San Francisco Chronicle: “Let us please not sidestep the fact that a racist and sexist man has become the president of our country by pandering to a huge racist and sexist base,” wrote Fakrah Shah, a Mission High School teacher, in the introduction to her lesson plan. “DO NOT: Tell (students) that we have LOST and that we have to accept this.”

This is not education — this is indoctrination, pure and simple. And it’s all courtesy of hard-working taxpayers, who more often than not are unaware of the extreme bias in their children’s education.
