The average wedding in the United States costs $26,645 right now. In New York, where former first daughter Chelsea Clinton shares a $10.3 million apartment with her husband, Mark Mezvinksy, and their two young children, the average cost of a wedding is $70,000-plus, according to a report in CNBC. How can the Clinton family expect us to believe they understand what we feel or how we feel when they can fit roughly 123 average weddings into their budget?
How can we ever expect the Clinton family to understand the needs and wants of middle-class families in America that struggle to throw a decent birthday party for their children, let alone afford the massive cost of a wedding? Chelsea Clinton’s wedding reportedly cost an estimated $3.3 million — and now we know, through leaked emails, that at least some of this money, and perhaps quite a good bit of it, may have come from the Clinton Foundation.
How can the Clinton family expect us to believe they understand what we feel when they can fit roughly 123 average weddings into their budget?
Hillary Clinton may have been let off the hook, again, by the FBI when it comes to her emails — but the Clinton Foundation is still under investigation. Given recent leaks, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Clinton, as well as her family, run into massive legal trouble. Whether that happens or not, one thing has been made abundantly clear by the leaks: The Clintons are corrupt and detached from what everyday Americans go through, and it runs through the whole family.
Former Clinton Foundation executive Doug Band, in an email to John Podesta, suggested that Chelsea Clinton could be implicating herself in the very investigation she was leading into the foundation’s finances.
“The investigation into her getting paid for campaigning, using foundation resources for her wedding and life for a decade, taxes on money from her parents,” Band wrote. “I hope that you will speak to her and end this … Once we go down this road …”

Chelsea’s wedding dress was estimated by CBS News to cost $24,900. That’s nearly the cost of the average wedding.
Middle-class couples around the country cut corners, save, and work extra jobs and extra hours to put on the best wedding they possibly can for quite possibly the happiest day of their lives. They may hope that various family members help them out however possible; they make take out loans.
If they’re really, really lucky, they have savings to help them finance their big day. But many do not. So they do the best they can.

The Democratic nominee for president and her family simply take the money they need and want from charity, the evidence suggests — seizing on the goodwill of people who have donated to it under a different understanding.
Whether the investigation into the Clinton Foundation leads to an indictment or not, the American people know this is shameful.
