Based on their comments about one another, no one would ever expect President-Elect Donald Trump and actress/comedian Rosie O’Donnell to be friends, or even friendly.

However, O’Donnell’s recent act of ridiculing and questioning the health of Donald Trump’s youngest child takes things too far.

After she tweeted a video to her 900,000 followers questioning whether Barron Trump, the president-elect’s son, might be autistic, the actress was forced to clarify her reasoning on Saturday — and it was nothing less than odd.

“My 3.5 year old daughter Dakota was diagnosed in September with HFA — high-functioning autism. I have been immersed in that world/reality since learning — reading — asking questions. It’s all autism all the time for the newly diagnosed. As we try to grab onto anything to keep us standing, the knowledge we r not alone there r others living this too,” O’Donnell wrote on her website.

She continued, “These symptoms so many do not understand — I thought — how amazing IF it is true … it would help so much with the autism epidemic.”

So — she was hoping 10-year-old Barron was autistic?

Celebrities love to claim privacy when it comes to their own children — but suddenly the young son of the president-elect is fair game for all sorts of public speculation and suggestion?

O’Donnell “claims” she has good intentions, but this marks a new low for a public figure’s treatment of the incoming first family.

O’Donnell claimed she had no bad intentions in playing into a conspiracy theory about a child. “I have no ill will for his children — or any children — and if u knew anything about me — u would know that,” she said, adding a final dig at Trump for good measure: “Donald does not have the power to change the facts — to rewrite history so speak true — stand tall.”

The original video in question has been viewed millions of times. It analyzes some of Barron Trump’s public behavior and mannerisms — which it then tries to link to autism. In the words of autismspeaks.org, “Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and autism are both general terms for a group of complex disorders of brain development. These disorders are characterized, in varying degrees, by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and repetitive behaviors.”

O’Donnell “claims” she has good intentions, but this marks a new low for a public figure’s treatment of the impending first family. Imagine if someone like O’Donnell had tweeted out videos of President Obama’s two daughters that analyzed their every movement and action in order to “prove” they had autism. There would be a national uproar. President Obama’s children have been kept mostly from public scrutiny — while Donald Trump hasn’t even stepped into office. Yet his 10-year-old son is suddenly being used as a tool for attention by a desperate comedian.

It doesn’t matter what pathetic public reasoning O’Donnell might offer. Her behavior teeters on extreme bullying. There’s no reason for a child in the public eye to be ridiculed like this or be used as a tool in the arsenal of someone who claims to have good intentions — but who then mixes in jabs at Donald Trump with her public questioning of whether Barron Trump has autism.

Parents shared their anger and furious reaction at her antics on social media. “Rosie, as a parent of a child with autism — I am extremely insulted. This wasn’t meant to help raise awareness. Just plain cruel,” wrote one person.

“I am the mom of an 11-yr-old with ASD and I am in tears that Rosie did this!! Shame on her!!” said another, as The Daily Mail and others also noted.

A mere Youtube video is proof of nothing except the loud hypocrisy of the Left and the cruel intentions many have for the incoming first family.
