The Mannequin Challenge Goes Catholic

Nuns and priests join in newest internet trend

It’s the social media trend that is sweeping the nation: the Mannequin Challenge.

The Carmelite Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Los Angeles have taken up the challenge in a particularly adorable Thanksgiving addition — including one juggler with a red pepper in mid-air. The video is circulating the web:

Another group of religious people — priests, to be exact — also undertook the challenge, with some of them freezing mid-song, others mid-prayer, and a couple mid-ping-pong match.

The video was uploaded to Facebook by ManoySenoAdventure and has over 5,000 views so far. The group of priests was raising awareness for the organization WhyNotPriest.org.

The organization answers questions about vocations and the priesthood, inspiring young people to consider a vocation.
