It’s rare these days to hear about Jesus Christ on prime-time TV — but that’s exactly what Dolly Parton brought to “The Voice” on Tuesday night.

The country music icon partnered with Jennifer Nettles and “The Voice’s” top 10 from this season in a beautiful rendition of the very religious song “Circle of Love.”

The chorus of the song goes: “Circle of love, halo of light/ When Jesus was born, on that Christmas night/ And oh what a night! That Holy night was/ When Bethlehem glowed, in the circle of love.”

Christ, of course, is at the very heart of the Christmas season — but it is very easy even for true believers to get caught up in the gifts, food, and celebrations. As we celebrate Christmas this year, it is vital for Christians to put Christ at the center of our lives — He came into the world to save mankind.

As John 3:16 states: “For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Dolly Parton’s song also highlights the salvation Christ brought to the world:

“Happy birthday to You Jesus, let us lift You up
How thankful we are, for all of Your love
So Jesus was born, wore a crown of thorns
Gave it all up, just to save us.”

As our culture promulgates the celebration of just a simple “holiday” season, Dolly Parton stands up and reminds everyone that Christ is truly at the center of Christmas.
