Whether or not you believe that Jesus is your Lord and Savior, I think it is safe to say He was pretty chill. But of all the things He saw around Him — the prostitution, the corrupt tax collectors, the cheating, the adultery, even breaking hard and fast Sabbath laws that He defended because lives were being saved — there was one thing that really ticked Him off. He hated hypocrisy.

He especially hated religious hypocrisy because He knew the hearts of these religious “leaders” were as dark as the hearts they railed against. I would argue darker, actually. He called these hypocrites — the Sadducees and Pharisees — whitewashed tombs, snakes and vipers.

God will not bless us if we hold ourselves out to be purer or better or more worthy than anyone else.

And the Bible I know and love says the Lord is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and if He hated hypocrisy yesterday, He has had 2,000 years to really perfect that burn. And now, we see an up-close and personal example of that spiritual arrogance and hypocrisy playing out across the nation as the Left cheers their party on as they rhetorically crucify Donald Trump for his behavior.

But the same group that is appalled that Trump is acting like a guy by bragging about unconfirmed exploits scurried to defend Bill Clinton in actual real-time molesting scenarios, claiming that what someone does in private is his own personal business. They even erected a virtual wall of protection around him and labeled it MoveOn.org. That was supposed to let us know it was none of our business and if we pursued it — well, then, our actions were considered more heinous than his.

Women were crucified if they dared suggest they had been molested by that man — but in Trump’s case, women are falling out of the woodwork, gleefully telling their tales of molestation as if a light bulb went on and they couldn’t live with themselves one more day if they didn’t share this deep, dark secret.

For sure, they couldn’t live another three weeks because it would be as irrelevant then as apparently it has been for years. And ladies … this man has the big bucks, the deep pockets, the huge name ID, and it would have been a quick windfall to accuse him in a court of law and get a big payoff. What — not one woman in all those years ever filed a lawsuit against this masher? Wow.

And for the lady who claimed Trump asked the airline stewardess to remove the middle section between two first-class seats on the plane, are you really sure about that? Do they really come out? That would be an easy thing to find out. Airlines, why aren’t you chiming in? Is this really what you guys do — allow a customer to break down the barrier between themselves and another passenger so they can molest them, right there in front of you and other passengers? If that’s the case, it sure doesn’t seem the airlines are a safe way to travel.

And where are the passengers who were on the same flight? That would have been the talk at every dinner table the next night about how they witnessed Donald Trump, a well-known and recognizable celebrity, molesting a woman, just a few feet from where they were strapped in. How do you miss that? Apparently a passenger, Anthony Gilberthorpe, said he saw that same woman coming on to Donald Trump and confessed she wanted to married him. Looks like maybe he was the victim of her delusion.

And yes, as a woman I am allowed to call out these women who somehow conveniently felt a compunction, three weeks before a national election, to trash a man’s reputation. That means they could do the same to my husband, to yours, to your son, or to your father. (Can you say “Duke Lacrosse”?)

I am sick of the hypocrisy on this issue. Unless these women have some substantial proof, a witness, a friend who will come forward and swear they told them about these things right after they happened, then I say it is nothing but a plan to try to deflect from Hillary Clinton and the laundry list of crimes she has committed or enabled others to commit.

We lived through Anita Hill, who miraculously showed up one day to expiate her soul of the horrible sexual abuse she felt she had suffered at the hands of Clarence Thomas and that dastardly Coke can. The men couldn’t say she was lying, or they would have been pilloried — but when the women who knew him best, and knew everything that happened in that office, came forward to defend him — well, they were trashed, just like the Clinton accusers.

What is it with liberals? They claim to love women, want to protect and support them and keep them safe from horrible men like Trump. But if a woman claims to support Trump, she is treated by them the way they claim she was treated by him. Does any of this make sense?

This hypocrisy theme is multi-faceted and can be applied across the board to voting blocs of all kinds. It was Jesus who said, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.” I dare anyone to say they are proud of every single thing they have ever said in private and that they should be held accountable if their private words were made public without their knowledge.

But there are two glaring inconsistencies with the immediate, non-redemptive, merciless pile-on. You can’t turn on the TV anymore without hearing almost verbatim what Trump said and worse. And if you complain, you are called a bigot or a “something-aphobe.”

You can’t find a movie to enjoy these days with the family, especially romantic comedies, without the gratuitous potty humor and elimination jokes and sexual conversations that would probably make even Trump blush. Yes — right there in your own living room, every night. Where are the screams of outrage? Why aren’t these shows boycotted? Why are these sexist sponsors still throwing millions at them in advertising? So the Left promotes that type of action against women on their shows, making millions — but then it feigns shock when someone else repeats the dialogue.

If the Hollywood elites had any guts, they would stand in alliance with Donald Trump and defend not only his right to privacy in what he was assuming was a private conversation, but they would call out the hypocrites and say, “Seriously, dude, we were there when they found the blue dress and it didn’t shock us.” This is the culture the Left has created. This is the culture they have designed. But by silence in this flurry of accusation, they are condemning their very creation — a culture laden with far worse than what Donald Trump said in private.

People, we are at the point of no return. There is no silver bullet, there is no third candidate, there is no other option than what is before us. If we don’t extend grace in the crucible of this campaign for a man who has never been in politics and has now seen the dark underbelly of it, why do we think God will extend grace to us as a nation?

We need to understand: This is what we have become as a nation. If we believe there is a future, that there is a way for God to save and preserve us, it is only going to be through a heart of contrition, forgiveness, and mercy. God will not bless us if we hold ourselves out to be purer or better or more brilliant or more worthy than anyone else. That’s not the way He works, and as Christians we should know it.

Extend Trump mercy as you ask for God to extend mercy to you. He is putting himself on the point of the spear for the nation. And if we allow him to have done this in vain because of our own self-righteousness, then the entire country will end in a “basket of deplorables” like Hillary said and His cup of wrath will begin to pour out on all of us.

We don’t have the luxury of hoping for a perfect candidate, and why should we get one? Under the liberal agenda, we have squandered our freedoms, allowed the Constitution to be shredded, and the government to insert itself into our sacred covenant ceremonies, allowed not just the murder of unborn babies but the selling of their parts — and people stand here thinking they are better than this man, Donald Trump? Go ahead — and cast that stone and see where it lands.
