The only thing in last night’s debate more shocking than the fact that Hillary stood for over 90 minutes straight without coughing was the barely concealed pro-Clinton bias of moderator Lester Holt.

Unfortunately for Trump, the next debate — co-hosted by Anderson Cooper and reportedly drawing a portion of questions from trending topics on Facebook — promises to be even more of a partisan charade.

“I don’t think he should be a moderator. I’ll participate, but I don’t think he should be a moderator,” Trump said.

“He’ll be very biased, very biased,” Trump told The Washington Post in an interview published earlier in this month. “I don’t think he should be a moderator. I’ll participate, but I don’t think he should be a moderator,” Trump said.

Trump’s concerns are valid. Cooper has displayed liberal bias and Democratic sympathies. His election coverage so far has been wholly partisan, as exemplified by his berating Jeff Lord for defending Trump’s remarks about Mexican-American Judge Gonzalo Curiel in June.

Cooper has even used unspeakable tragedies to push his political agenda. In the aftermath of the Islamic terrorist attack in Orlando, Cooper spent an interview with Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi interrogating her about her stance on gay marriage.

Cooper’s moderating the debate is clearly a conflict of interest. Not only is he an outspoken proponent of gay marriage — which the GOP platform explicitly rejects — but his husband, Benjamin Maisani, donated money to the Clinton campaign in June.

“I’m shocked someone who’s more pundit than journalist was included in the debate mix,” Dan Gainor, vice president for Business and Culture for the Media Research Center, told LifeZette.

“When this election is over, [the] GOP needs to rethink who it agrees to for debates. We already had the primary disaster with CNBC this year. It’s time to change formats and cut out lefty journalists altogether,” Gainor added.

As if Cooper’s presence weren’t enough of a potential headache for Trump, the fact that half of the questions will be drawn from trending social media topics could mean the proceedings reach pantomimic proportions.

It was revealed earlier this year that Facebook was suppressing items of news of interest to conservatives, and that their “trending algorithm” was in fact a team of liberal employees hand-selecting bits of news they wanted people to see.

Facebook said it has ended the controversial practice, but the very fact they were doing it in the first place does not exactly breed confidence in their ability to field unbiased questions to the moderators — especially considering Zuckerberg’s hatred for Trump and love of leftist causes.

Zuckerberg has expressed support for a number of liberal causes, including: open borders, gay marriage, and the Black Lives Matter movement — and has taken direct shots at Trump himself.

“I hear fearful voices calling for building walls and distancing people they label as others. For blocking free expression, for slowing immigration, reducing trade,” Zuckerberg said in April.
