If you are waiting impatiently for feminists to condemn the New York Post’s Sunday edition front page featuring a nude modeling photo of Melania Trump from the 1990s, along with a headline that screams, “The Ogle Office,” it may be a very long wait indeed.

The Post wasn’t finished with their handiwork Sunday morning — the evening edition featured a photo of Melania and another woman, both naked, on the cover with the headline, “Ménage a Trump.” The photos of Melania Trump were taken back in 1995 — before Melania (then known as Melania Knauss) and Donald Trump had even met.

“Melania was one of the most successful models, and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines,” Trump said proudly of his wife.

So far, the defense of Melania by passionate liberal women who daily scream about every woman’s rights to do whatever she wants whenever she wants with her body has been nonexistent.

“I don’t think we’ll hear too much from that sector, especially in an election season,” said Maryland publisher and small business owner Jean Purcell, 77. “They want free expression, as long as that expression suits their needs, their agenda. A liberal woman posing nude with another woman would be celebrated as high art. A conservative woman is mocked, and then dismissed.”

The Clintons and the liberal press that willingly totes their water are skilled at pretending that the past never even existed — even if that past includes extra-marital affairs, scandal, and an impeachment. If they must admit it existed, anyone who questions their morality is just being a fussbudget.

“As to the ‘Monica Lewinsky affair,’ is there anybody in America who doesn’t know Bill Clinton played slap and tickle with a young thing at the office and lied about it?” Gene Lyons wrote just three days ago in his column for the Chicago Sun-Times. “How is that his wife’s fault?”

Donald Trump doesn’t hide from his or his wife Melania’s past, one in which she was a highly sought-after model.

Trump spokesman Jason Miller noted that the shots of Melania Trump published by the Post were taken before the couple knew each other.

“They’re a celebration of the human body as art, and [there’s] nothing to be embarrassed about with the photos. She’s a beautiful woman,” Miller told CNN’s “Reliable Sources.”

Donald Trump told the Post, “Melania was one of the most successful models, and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines. This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to my knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common.”

Small business owner Purcell, who spent 10 years living in Geneva, Switzerland, agreed with the Republican candidate.

“There is a different sensibility of nudity,” she said of Europe. “Melania perhaps grew up with that sensibility. She was a young girl. She has matured into a loving wife and mother.”

The Clinton campaign should be understanding of the choices of youth — Hillary Clinton was only two years older when she was fired from the Watergate committee and refused a letter of recommendation from Jerry Zeifman, her supervisor on the committee.

“Because she was a liar,” Zeifman told Fox News in 2014 as the reason he let Clinton go — and refused the letter. “She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee, and the rules of confidentiality.”

It seems to make modeling pictures taken of an actual model look kind of … unimportant, in a race for the highest office in the land.

The New York Post needs Melania Trump’s old photos for clickbait and newsstand eye candy. As recently as last year, the publication reported that its losses were an estimated $30 million a year, and the publication was looking at “jettisoning more high-priced executives and settling some looming union issues,” quoting industry insiders.

When circulation flags — show some skin. So much the better if it’s the skin of a Trump. Many in the Twittersphere seems to agree — @raelynn tweeted, “The New York Post publishing nude photos of Melania is extremely tasteless and desperate.”

The photos the Post obtained were featured in Max Magazine, a French men’s monthly now out of business, more than 20 years ago, the publication said.

The 1995 shoot in Chelsea, New York, was inspired by Renaissance art, said a fashion-industry insider who was present at the photo shoot, according to the Post. Melania had recently arrived in the city from modeling stints in Paris and Milan at that time.

“I think it is important to show the beauty and freedom of the woman, and I am very proud of these pictures because they celebrate Melania’s beauty,” the photographer, Jarl Ale de Basseville, said of the pictures.

Ironically, what’s good for the goose is good only for a gander — when it comes to a conservative nominee’s spouse.

Liberal-leaning lefties regularly swoon over nudity — and even depravity. Liberal darling Lena Dunham was applauded for revealing in her book, “I’m Not That Kind of Girl,” that she violated her little sister as she slept. “Case in point, they [the intolerant Left] suggest that her sexual assault on her sibling is cute, and she’s rewarded for it with fame and fortune,” Sarah Palin wrote in a Facebook post of the coverage of Dunham’s admission.

But a few photos of a model actually modeling? Shocking, front-page news. For today. Tomorrow it will line birdcages.
