Big Money Fuels Black Lives Matter

Turn over any stone of a radical social movement and it is likely one will find multinational corporate interests slithering underneath.

The Black Lives Matter movement is set to receive millions of dollars in funding from the Ford Foundation, Fortune Magazine reported earlier this week.

The Black-Led Movement Fund’s goal is to “bring $100 million in new resources to the Movement for Black Lives.”

“By partnering with Borealis Philanthropy, Movement Strategy Center, and Benedict Consulting to found the Black-Led Movement Fund, Ford has made six-year investments in the organizations and networks that compose the Movement for Black Lives,” the Ford Foundation said in an official statement.

According to Ford’s partner in the endeavor, Borealis Philanthropy, the Black-Led Movement Fund’s goal is to “bring $100 million in new resources to the Movement for Black Lives.” That’s right — the Ford Foundation wants to give $100 million to a black separatist movement that advocates violence against police officers.

But the Ford Foundation’s support of this radical political movement fits a historical pattern. Indeed, this may be the greatest irony of the modern Left — the radical social movements leftists love so dearly only fuel the power of the massive corporate and financial interests they claim to despise.

One of the clearest historical examples of the twisted symbiotic relationship between globalist capitalists and cultural marxists is the women’s liberation movement. As the University of Michigan website’s page on the history of women’s studies notes, “this [large] volume of research and publication in Women’s Studies has been supported by foundations and federal agencies.”

“In the past few years, at least two major sources of funding of dissertation research have been specifically designated for Women’s Studies … The National Science Foundation, Ford Foundation, Rockefeller Foundation … and other agencies have given both support and visibility to research on women’s studies,” the website says.

It may seem strange to some liberals that institutions they likely associate with the “capitalist patriarchy” — such as the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations — would fund the left-leaning women’s liberation movement, but the relationship made perfect sense from a business perspective.

Fewer women in the home meant more women in the workplace, which meant more consumers for corporations and more taxpayers for government. Indeed, the sexual revolution as a whole was one of the greatest gifts ever given to corporate globalist interests.

From the acceptance of homosexuality to increasing divorce to the legalization of abortion, the results were the same — fewer nuclear families. Fewer nuclear families not only means more workers and more consumers, but as fewer people have families for which to build futures, it also leads to fewer people saving money and more people going into debt — fodder for the usurious engine that feeds the global financial system.

Perhaps it’s no surprise that Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood, is also a Ford Foundation trustee.

A clear contemporary example of the Left/global-capitalist axis at work is the issue of immigration. Mass open borders migration is a favorite cause of the Left. One of the 13 demands originally listed by Occupy Wall Street on its website was just that. “Demand nine: Open borders migration. Anyone can travel anywhere to work and live,” the site reads.

But open borders are also a favorite of the globalists. Open borders — and the free movement of cheap labor they facilitate — are an obvious benefit to the global financial elite. Peter Sutherland, the UN special representative for International Migration, is an ardent proponent of open borders.

“We [Europeans] … still nurse a sense of our homogeneity and difference from other,” Sutherland noted in 2012. “And that’s precisely what the European Union, in my view, should be doing its best to undermine,” he said. While taking part in a panel on immigration in Berlin in July, Sutherland said “it’s necessary now” to open borders to all migrants, not just refugees — despite the clear threat Muslim migrants pose to Europe. Peter Sutherland also happens to be the former chairman of Goldman Sachs International.

And indeed, open borders immigration is one of the few things on which the ultra-libertarian Koch brothers and far-left activist George Soros agree. The three men’s organizations are both funding the upcoming “Rally 4 Refugees” in Washington, D.C.
