What motivates the nation’s youth to vote?

College Republicans in Florida have boiled it down to one thing: Chipotle.

According to a contest launched by the Florida Federation of College Republicans, lucky young voters had the opportunity to win $25 for use at the popular burrito chain by simply posting a selfie on social media, wearing the traditional “I Voted” sticker.

Students gladly participated, exercising their civic duty — and many were voting for the first time.

“Studies show that those who vote in their college years turn out to be lifelong voters,” said Cade Marsh, executive director of the Florida Federation of College Republicans. “Because of this, we wanted to do something fun and encouraging to start this positive behavior trend when it matters most,” Marsh told LifeZette.

Donald Trump may be bringing thousands of new voters to the polls. But it’s not clear how his appeal to the young stacks up against a burrito.

If Hillary wants to seize the “kid vote” from Bernie, she might consider handing out some tortillas, guacamole and some barbacoa instead of serving up boilerplate.
