Starlets have been saying “goodbye” to wearing barely there clothing on the red carpet and have realized that maybe wearing actual clothes to award shows and premieres may be a better idea than wearing the “naked dress.”

Well, at least some have had this revelation. Others, who should really be covering themselves up haven’t realized how inappropriate and unappealing it is to wear high-slit, low-cut dresses and tops.

Take Susan Sarandon. The 69-year-old showed up at the Screen Actors Guild Awards wearing a black satin bra barely covered by a loosely fitting white blazer — no shirt or blouse. The jacket revealed her cleavage in a way that was less than flattering, bringing sag to the SAG Awards.

The Internet quickly reacted, asking the actress if she needed money to buy more clothing and criticizing her for wearing something so inappropriate while she paid tribute to the great David Bowie during the show’s In Memoriam tribute.

More attention was paid to her cleavage than to the memory of fallen actors and musicians, and viewers were more focused on her outfit than her words.

Many on social media found it a fashion-don’t, calling it tasteless, especially because of her position in the somber segment.

“Susan Sarandon, if you knew you were going to be doing the In Memoriam part of the #sagawards, why the eff did you wear a bra top? #inapprop,” tweeted one viewer.

Piers Morgan even weighed in:

Who do you think would win the Presidency?

And others were not shy about their opinions.

Kate Winslet couldn’t handle Sarandon’s scandalous get-up either, covering the actress’s cleavage in a photo of the two.

Sarandon isn’t the only, too-old-to-wear-that celeb who has bared it all on the red carpet or gone over the top in inappropriate situations. Other actresses have tried holding onto their youth by wearing outfits that no one wants to see them in.

But it poses the question: When is it time for celebrities to cover up? For Sarandon, the answer is: Right now.
